What to do with my new personal (stock?) images

On my website you will find my Tybee Island photography series and I’ve also begun a new series, photographing at a local senior day care center. I have model releases for all of these images. However, I need to make a decision: Either find a stock photography company to place these images with, or get going creating my Photo Shelter website. I already use Photo Shelter for off site storage of my “Greatest Hits,” but I will have to upgrade and pay more to sell stock through Photo Shelter.

Other things to consider on PS:

* I can use their template page or I can create my own customized stock website page so it looks like my website/blog. (Having my web designer customize seems like the best idea.)

* Then I have to market the images and get Art Buyers to go to the site to license images.

* All images have to have keywords and be priced. (You now have to partially keyword all images that get sent to Getty and they can still be rejected.)

* What if I pay for Photo Shelter and it suffers the same fate as Digital Railroad?

Hi Greg – if you haven’t already committed to Gallery STock, check us out! The bulk of our content is RM and exclusive to us – photogs get 50% of GROSS license fee. (We allow togs to opt out of RF for their images).
    Hope to hear from you.
