I’ve been looking at the web sties of young photographers over the last couple of days, and the question I ask them is:
Who are you marketing to? Who is your customer?
Put yourself in the position of your customer/client when you are putting portfolios together for your website. What does the client want to see?
On the other hand, the thing I always hear from consultants, Art Buyers and Art Directors is, “Be true to yourself.” So you have to balance what it is you really like to do in your personal work with showing the kind of work that will get you hired.
