A few years ago, I did an estimate for a Ford Motor Company advertising job in which they wanted still images and then, as a separate shoot on the same day, video shot on a green screen.

Greg, thank you so much for this information. I was recently told that clients wanted to have video produced but did not want to pay extra for it outside of the total cost of the regular photo shoot. You have stated that art buyers will hire photographers to shoot both which is a charge 40% less than production companies. So are photographers actually now charging an extra fee for shooting the video? Please advise.

What type of jobs are these? Certainly, most advertising agency Art Buyers would not ask you to just “Throw in,” the video for free.
