The thought has crossed my mind and I feel is coming up more and more recently. But if you think about it, you are getting paid for your talent not necessarily what you shoot it with. If whoever could shoot it themselves, they wouldn’t hire someone unless they know you are going to achieve something they couldn’t themselves, regardless of the equipment.
Yes, better cameras are becoming more available to anyone today but we get paid for our talent. We shouldn’t have to use a camera that looks fancy unless the agency or client asked us to use that specific camera. If we can achieve the shot with the 5D MKII why not use it unless specified otherwise…

And if you add two or three lenses then it jumps to several thousands more. I think I’ll buy two.
