Magazines rarely pay enough so you can make your best work, especially you and David. As he explains in the interview, he would rather build sets than fabricate the images in Photoshop. No magazine that I know currently is going to spend 20k on a set. I’m sure there are a few, but “Flaunt” and “Blackbook” are not those types of publications. So photographers, in an effort to make the most of an opportunity to be published, will often spend more than a magazine gives them to produce a shoot (fee’s and expenses combined.)
