Government Crackdown on Unpaid Internships
When I read the internship piece in PDN last month, wherein attorney Alan Koral explained that unpaid interns are pretty much illegal in for-profit businesses, I thought, “Well, that may be the law, but no one enforces it, so who cares?” Turns out, federal and state governments are starting to enforce it.

It is funny that you posted this, I came to your blog to post the link because I thought you would find it interesting. I know I found it very interesting to know that it was even an issue.

Yeah, just read this article. The end of slave labor? Probably not. Maybe just less available internships if the laws are truly enforced.

Interns Must Be Paid The Minimum Wage
Time Magazine apparently published a sister article on the same day. That article mentions a Facebook group that addresses the issue in the UK called Interns Must Be Paid The Minimum Wage
A quick web search reveals about a thousand blogs in response to the NYT and the Time articles.
